Weekend BBQ: Redneck Lipstick Grilled Wings
September 2, 2026 / No Comments
Welcome to Weekend BBQ!
Who says BBQ is only for summer? ππ₯
Football is back, the weather is starting to cool down, and we're kicking off a new series dedicated to one of our favorite things: good food, good sauce, and a reason to fire up the grill.
Every Sunday, we're bringing you a new BBQ recipe that's perfect for game day, family dinner, tailgating, or just because it's Sunday and you deserve something delicious.
First up? Crispy, juicy grilled chicken wings coated in Redneck Lipstick BBQ Sauce. They're simple, smoky, saucy, and ridiculously good.
Let's get grilling.
What You'll Need
- 12β24 chicken wings, tips removed
- Buttermilk, optional
- Paprika
- Salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Redneck Lipstick BBQ Sauce
Optional Buttermilk Marinade
For extra tender, flavorful wings, place the chicken wings in a large bowl or baking dish and cover with buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Short on time? No worries! You can skip the marinade and still end up with some seriously delicious wings.
Let's Get Cooking
1. Prep the wings.
Remove the wings from the buttermilk and let them drain. Allow them to come up to room temperature for about 30β45 minutes. Pat off any excess buttermilk with paper towels.
2. Season.
Generously season the wings with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and paprika.
3. Fire up the grill.
Heat your grill to low-medium heat.
4. Grill low and slow.
Place the wings on the grill and cook for approximately 30β45 minutes, depending on your grill and temperature.
Flip the wings every 5β10 minutes, allowing the skin to become beautifully golden and crispy.
Keep an eye on the grill! Chicken wings can cause flare-ups as the fat drips onto the flames. Move the wings around as needed and don't let those beauties burn.
5. Sauce 'em up.
During the last 5 minutes of grilling, brush the wings generously with Redneck Lipstick BBQ Sauce β OR, for extra crispy skin, wait until the wings come off the grill and toss or brush them with sauce immediately.
We prefer saucing them after grilling. You get that sticky, saucy goodness without sacrificing the crispy skin. π€€
The Weekend BBQ Verdict
Crispy skin. Juicy chicken. Smoky grill flavor. And plenty of that sweet, tangy Redneck Lipstick goodness.
That's how you do weekends.
And this is just the beginning.
Come back next Thursday for another Redneck Lipstick BBQ recipe!
